What the president does

The president is the head of state and head of government of the United States of America, and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. The president is responsible for executing and enforcing the laws of the nation. The president also serves as head of the executive branch of government, which includes the Cabinet and all federal agencies.

How to become president

If you want to become the President of the United States, you must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, be at least 35 years old, and have been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years.

In addition, you must meet certain qualifications set forth in Article II of the U.S. Constitution. To be eligible to serve as president, you must:

Be a natural-born citizen of the United States
Be at least 35 years old
Have been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years

There is no formal education requirement for becoming president, but most presidents have attended college. George Washington was the only president who did not have a college degree. Abraham Lincoln is considered one of our nation's greatest presidents, and he only had about 18 months of formal education. However, many modern day presidents have attended Ivy League schools such as Harvard and Yale.

America's first president

George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was the first president of the United States of America, serving from April 30, 1789, to March 4, 1797. Washington was a general during the American Revolutionary War and is considered one of the most influential Founding Fathers of the United States. After his retirement from public office, he returned to his home at Mount Vernon in Virginia where he died on December 14, 1799 at the age of 67.

I am the President of the United States of America. I have been in office for four years now, and my term is coming to an end. I am sad, because I have not accomplished everything I wanted to during my time in office. I have made some progress, but there is still so much more that needs to be done.

I remember when I first took office. I was so full of hope and energy. I wanted to make America a better place for everyone. I wanted to bring about change that would make a difference in people's lives. But it hasn't all been easy. There have been challenges every step of the way.

But even though it hasn't been easy, I haven't given up on my goals. I'm still working hard every day to make America a better place. And I'm hopeful that someday, we will reach the goals that we set out to achieve when I first became President.
